Apple Tunes Up With LaLa?

Reports are out that Apple is near or has agreed to the acquisition streaming music company LaLa.  This is a very interesting development in the game of positioning for the next wave of growth for digital music.
LaLa is a four-year-old start-up based in Palo Alto, California.  Lala, unlike Apple’s iTunes, lets users play the [...]

Where Have The Pay Phones Gone?

I was waiting to hop the train to New York this morning and overheard an interesing conversation.  A young man, lets say around twelve, was asking this adult he was with what this funny looking medal  thing was.  The adult went onto say it is where the pay phone used to be.  Of course the [...]

Apple Inc said on Monday that downloads from its iTunes applications store had passed 2 billion.  The number of apps has also ballooned to more than 85,000 apps available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
It was just April that I posted about 1 billion apps dowloaded.

Interesting article in the New York Times today regarding mobile applications.   The article cites some new research from a Chicago firm called Gravity Tank about current usage of apps and buying criteria for smart phones.
I can say that I did not buy the iPhone for the apps…there were none in  July 2007.  I am sure [...]

Apple Approaching 1 Billion Apps Sold

Check out the counter on Apple.com that is keeping running total of the number of applications downloaded from the Apple App Store.  Wow.
Pandora Internet Radio, a “cool site” I posted about yesterday is on the Top 20 App list.  I am telling you Pandora is great on the PC…but very cool for the iPhone.
Not surprising [...]

Pandora Internet Radio Is Cool

I have tried all sorts of Internet radios over the last several years.  Never had one grab me or monopolize my interest.
At the suggestion of a “tweet” on Twitter that said:  “With Pandora why does anyone download music to their iPhone…”  I got to thinking that maybe this is for me.
Internet radio is surely not [...]
