Wall Street Journal confirmed the acquisition of LaLa by Apple a few hours ago.

Apple Inc said on Monday that downloads from its iTunes applications store had passed 2 billion.  The number of apps has also ballooned to more than 85,000 apps available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
