Collaborative Consumption Summit Tonight @ Bentley

I am pleased to host a summit on the topic of Collaborative Consumption, this evening, 6-8pm at Bentley University.  The details for the event can be found on this post.

Collaborative Consumption is an important movement in this day and age across the globe.  We as the citizens of this world must rationalize our consumption patterns in order to sustain the planet.  This movement is heightened by the new realities of our economy.  The emerging social tools of the Internet are also enabling this movement by allowing once hyper local communities to become part of this global community.

I am thrilled that Dr. Rachel Botsman, global business consultant and author of the newly released “Whats Mine Is Yours,” will deliver a keynote on this timely topic.  In addition, I have been able to bring together several practitioners that are playing important roles running organizations that are fueled by the collaborative consumption movement to join a panel:  Tim Hyer, Founder and CEO of Rentcycle, Shelby Clarke the Founder and CEO of Relay Rides and Aleece Germano the Founder of the S.W.A.P. team.

Two of these ventures are currently part of the MassChallenge start up incubator.  John Harthorne, Founder and CEO of MassChallenge will also join us to talk about innovation in Massachusetts.

The night will cap off with attendees able to meet Dr. Botsman in a book signing.  If you bring a book to the event, Swap.com will also be holding an old-fashioned book swap as well.

I have collaborated with Perry Lowe, Sr. Lecturer of Bentley University, to set up this event.  Thank you Perry for all of your support and help.

It is going to be a great night to showcase Boston-based innovation that is leading an important global movement.
