“I Like” Is Powerful Recommendation

i-like-ikeWe all have things that we “like.” Might be a restaurant, could be a favorite pair of shoes or a certain flavor of ice cream at your local creamery; the list could go on and on. I have always been interested in understanding what people “like” – we can learn a lot about each other that way, and truth be told, I have often drawn likes and dislikes from other people’s opinions and views; I am my own person and can make up my mind, but I learn a lot from others. This is not new behavior for humans. What is new is the ability to share those “likes” with the world, thanks to social media.  Read my entire post here on Swapping Ideas.

  • Great post Jeff…fascinating where Facebook is heading, and the implication on how people make purchase decisions. I’m far more likely to buy something that my network of friends “Like” than through a random Google search. It will be fun to watch how Google responds to this threat to its dominance!

  • Thanks Ted. The web is transforming. It is more and more about people, their connections and their comments (blogs, comments, tweets, “likes”).
