Boston #1 Innovation City In America

Boston is a unique city.  It has a long history by America’s standards.  This history has played a big role in the establishment of so many educational institutions from the earliest grades through college.  People flock from across the world to be educated here.  This educational platform has spawned enormous research, product development, advancements in health care and more.   This leads to a lot of innovation.

I contend that Boston is a great place to go to school, to live, to work…and to build companies.  We are surely committed to build Swaptree right here in Boston.

I have also sensed a renewed energy in Boston in the entrepreneurial community in the last few years.   Today we have laid the seeds for a vibrant start up scene with TechStars, MassChallenge12×12 and more.  This is also great for innovation.

I also believe that Boston is also the “hub” of the whole New England region.  So when we talk about Boston we are really talking about the broader region.

It is gratifying to see Boston recognized as the #1 Innovation City in Amercia.    Check It Out Here.

Way to go Boston!

  • Boston…as the ‘hub’ is just getting warmed up and re-focused aftAH a few hundred years! Incubators? The crucible and/or the petri dish of life and lifestyles is right here in Boston. What happens moving forward? We must not cover over the new garden, block the sun, from its nurturing rays; nor archive the renaissance to the musty aroma of a ‘museum’. Dust off all the ideas … bring them all out into the sunlight and watch those ‘ideas’ of value blossom!

  • Right on Ken. Got to continue to innovate…collaborate…nurture…FUND…and develop this innovation into jobs.

  • Gotta say, that is an oddball list if Paris is #4. But if they rank Boston #1 then I am all for their methodology! (Can’t see it without buying the report, alas.) I do agree with Barcelona being so high on the list…every time I go there I want to work with the amazing minds that form that place. The food, the art, the architecture, the streetlife all speak to unconventional and innovative people. It would naturally extend to technology and consumer products.
