Former Aerosmith Manager Buys Grandparents.com
I am a big fan of brands that are descriptive…it is very important in the world today. It takes a lot of money to create awareness of brands that are not descriptive. Generic/descriptive brands are aided greatly on the Internet with direct navigation and SEO. Generic/descriptive brands are usually memorable and can also aid in word of mouth marketing and the evolving social marketing opportunity.
I have always been a big fan of Aerosmith too. Steve Leber, the former manager of the rock band Aerosmith, has partnered with New York real estate investor Joseph Bernstein, to purchase Grandparents.com. Come to find out, Leber has six grandchildren of his own. We must be all getting a little older if the former Manager of Aerosmith is out there acquiring Grandparents.com.
Grandparents.com features city guides, activities, and tips—all designed to improve grandparents’ relationships with their Grandkids. Launched in 2007, Grandparents.com is recognized as the premier site for Grandparents on the Internet, and as having the highest quality and breadth of content. It is also one of the top 10 family websites for females 50+ as of February 2010.
Today’s Grandparents are young at heart and active online. They constitute the wealthiest and largest sector of the U.S. economy – 70 million strong! I have noticed more and more Grandparents on Facebook in last few months as well. Plug Grandparents.com into the Facebook Social Graph and let it rain with organic traffic!
Wishing Leber and Bernstein the best of luck!
