Most Enjoyable 2010 March Madness

I love college sports.  In particular I really love March Madness…the NCAA Boys Basketball tourney.  This years tournament has very enjoyable.  Congrats to Duke and Butler for their effort in the Finals.

For all of us who set up “brackets” with our office buddies and firends, you were probably in trouble pretty quickly in the first two days of the tournament due to the upsets..I know I was.   The highlights:

- Northern Iowa’s upset of #1 Kansas

- Butler’s upset of Syracuse…and Kansas State

- Cornell’s upset of Temple…and Wisconsin

- St. Mary’s upset of Richmond…and Villanova

- West Virgina knocking off Kentucky

- Dick Enberg is one of the classiest sports broadcasters in the business.  He is Jim Mckay-like.  Dick called his last game in the tournament as he is retiring.

- Apple wins the advertising battle.  It was surely nice to see Apple spending some of their bank roll advertising the iPad…sure beats the Obama administration spending tax dollars to advertise the Census.

- Butler is surely a team that is for real. This is a great team.  So fitting that they could play in the Final Four as almost the home team.

- I have heard all the complaints about Duke’s easy region…but they beat a very good Purdue and Baylor team to advance to the Finals.

- How fitting that in the final game it would go right down to the final shot…and Butler nearly pulled it off wih Howard’s mid-court shot…in and out…WOW!

As I say I have really enjoyed March Madness for a long time.  This year was one of the most enjoyable tournaments in my memory though.  Maybe the upsets.  But every game that I watched were really hotly contested games.  Just the way it is supposed to be.  Great work by all of the teams that qualified.  Congrats to Duke for a magnificent job winning the 2010 NCAA Basketball Crown.  Duke won it.  Butler deserves much credit as well.
