“The Early Edition” Is Cool iPad App
I have always been an early adopter on technology. This has led me to not only try but then really use
many generations of technological advancements. Despite this I still really like to read the paper and a good book. Nothing like it. I am a big fan of Amazon’s Kindle and Apple’s iPhone and Mac…but it just is not totally the same. But I must say the iPad might be changing some of this.
My friend Zaks sent me a “gif” today of this blog through the lens of “The Early Edition,” which is one of the apps that is integrated with the Apple iPad. Essentially all of my recent posts were captured through the RSS feed and then displayed in the “The Early Edition” newspaper format. Kind of cool to see my blog in this format.
Most of us have RSS readers and they are just functional windows with the links to posts that we track regularly from our favorite web sites and blogs. With “The Early Edition” you can mix and match several RSS feeds to essentially create your own iPad-based newspaper.
The Apple iPad advertisements have done a nice job featuring books and newspapers and it looks like the tablet design is very appropriate for consuming these media types. It appears that Apple has also done a great job including several new apps that really feature the benefits of this tablet display format, like “The Early Edition.”
