Wall Street Journal Reports On The Rise Of Scott Brown For U.S. Senate
An interesting article appeared in the Wall Street Journal today regarding the upcoming U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts.
The article starts out, “When Ted Kennedy died last August, Democrats said they’d honor him by finally passing the national health care he had long campaigned for. What an irony it would be if the race for Kennedy’s successor in Massachusetts denied Democrats the 60th vote to ram their federal takeover into law on a partisan basis.’
It would be ironic. And it might happen. The Massachusetts Democratic party has fielded a very weak candidate in Martha Coakley who has run a very uninspired campaign that is leading to many questions about her qualifications. She has been aloof but when she has articulated her positions it is apparent that she is looking to become just a rubber stamp for the Democratic majority. I say majority for now…as it looks like the Democrats will have an awfully hard time holding this year. The American people seem like they have had enough.
Also ironic but factual is the WSJ’s use of the JFK clip from 1962 that talks about tax cuts back then and why they are so important to businesses to stimulate the economy. Martha Coakley is quoted talking about getting “taxes up.” Nice idea Martha that wont build a sustainable economic recovery…it will fund the socialist state it looks like you and your colleagues want to create though. Coakley might be the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate seat but she is surely no Jack Kennedy.
Coakley seems to think that since she is the Democratic nominee she is the Senator. She has dodged her challenger Republican Scott Brown throughout the short campaign. So unlike the other Senators that have represented Massachusetts in years past who relished in the debate and campaign. As I say Martha is proving to not be qualified and she surely is no Ted Kennedy, John Kerry or Mitt Romney and Bill Weld either.
The article ends, “the mere fact that Democrats have to fight so hard to save Ted Kennedy’s seat shows how badly they have misjudged America by governing so far to the left.”
The Scott Brown campaign is for real. He is working hard to get the message out on the vast differences between his position and Coakley’s. Brown also has a wind at his back that seems to be howling to refute the socialist policies of the President and the Democratic controlled Congress. It is going to be an interesting ten days as the stakes for this election are very high. I am sure the Democrats will wheel in everyone to try to save the day. Bring them all in…this is just what Scott Brown wants…it wont work. Enough is enough.
