We were coming home from dropping our son at camp.  It had been a nice time meeting all the staff, counselors and kids in his cabin.

The day was sultry seeming to be one percent humidity.   You could just feel storms in the air.  As we were driving down this country road the sky started to open up with rain as we were driving right into a thunderstorm.  We continued on and the rain started to come down in torrents.  Just as we went to make a left hand turn onto yet another country road a massive flash, bolt and explosion occurred right before us.  Mother Nature surely showed us all her glory just one hundred yards in front of us.  We had witnessed an awesome display of the power of nature.

Just so happened about ten cows in the field between us and the light bolt had received an even closer display.  Who knows maybe the electricity from the lightning bolt ran through the ground.  The impact was profound as we witnessed these cows sprinting across the field as if they were running to the local fair.

No damage from what we could see, though what an awesome display of the power of nature!
