FetchDog.Com Retrieves $4m Capital
FetchDog.Com an online community and commerce site for dog owners has retrieved $4 million in capital from Borealis Capital Partners and Harbor Light Capital Partners. The Maine-based company has been funded to date from David E. Shaw and his wife, actress Glenn Close.
FetchDog.com has been a labor of love. The site has been focused on creating the best web site for dogs on the Internet with particular focus on: hassle free shopping experience offering the best products available, a place to explore health questions, training tips for new pups or older ones with bad habits, discovery of tools for researching breeds, resource for adoption tips and advice from canine experts, and of course, finding cool videos and stories about everyone’s favorite subject—dogs. According to Compete.Com Traffic Chart, FetchDog.com has been growing very nicely over the last year. The site serves a large and enthusiastic demographic.
Coming along with the funding will be a CEO, former Beliefnet.com and Ziff Davis executive Claude Sheerwith. FetchDog.com will put the capital to work to add more staff, build more functionality and audience for it’s very cool site.
