Verrill Farm Reopens

It was less than two months ago I blogged about the fire that destroyed Verrill Farm in Concord, Mass. on JeffBennett.Org. The plea was to help support our neighbors in time of need. The Verrill’s bounced back fast opening a trailer within days, keeping all employees working to harvest the crops and our community has offered an outpouring of support during this time.

This past week a milestone occurred with the opening of a temporary farm stand on Wheeler Road in Concord. Store hours will be 9 am- 8 pm seven days a week. Verrill Farm will be offering produce, coffee and scones, dessert items, grass-fed beef, wide selection of cheeses, Stonewall Farms products, breads and famous Verrill Farm pies. The deli has also been reopened. All this just in time for Thanksgiving. We look forward to stocking up as we prepare for the big harvest holiday and meal.

I will continue to update you here at JeffBennett.Org on major developments at Verrill Farm but you can also check things out at the Verrill Farm Blog. Amidst all of the gloomy economic news this is surely a wonderful turnaround and example of a community working together for something it cares about.
