The Hess Toy Truck Is Back
The 2008 edition of the Hess Toy Truck has been released for sale. This years collectible is a Toy Truck with Front End Loader. The combo features working lights, real life engine sounds, motor for forward and reverse motion and much more. The quality standards remain high with this years edition. The Hess Truck is available for purchase at most Hess Express Outlets.
The Hess Toy Truck was the brainchild of Leon Hess who was the long time CEO of Hess Oil. Mr. Hess wanted to offer an affordable toy that could be purchased for families and he started this back in 1964. Each year since then Hess has released a new truck for the holidays. The Hess Toy Truck has become a tradition and is announced each year in a Hess television advertisement “The Hess Trucks Back…and it’s better than ever.”
This is surely a tradition in our home thanks to Grammy (and Grampy while he was with us). We got our 2008 edition today and enjoyed it amongst our collection Hess Toy Trucks from yesteryear.

The Hess Trucks are an institution in my home. Papa buys 1 for himself and 1 for my son. He has been doing this since before the oldest grandson, now 13, was born. My son is so into them that everytime Papa comes to visit he brings one from his collection so now we have trucks over 13 years old. They are by far the most played with toys by both my 4 yr old son and his 2 yr old sister.
